MWAH! Bio Info for Justin Smusz: As of August 27, 2015

My name: : Justin Smusz

My age: 16

Where I was born: Downers Grove, IL

My home town: Bolingbrook, IL

My school / year in school: Benet Academy, Junior

My favorite subjects in school and why: Physics and biology. I love learning about how stuff works and why certain phenomenon happen. I also have a great interest in how the body works along with plant life and animals.

My favorite food: Crab legs with melted butter

My favorite TV show: Parks and Recreation

My favorite actress / actor: Amy Poehler

My favorite musical artist or group: Pentatonix

My hobbies: Photography, light design, interior decorating, dance, and anything music–related.

My personal hero or heroes and why: My mom: She has always been the best listener and always has an open ear. Whenever I need something, she is there to provide it for me. If I'm having a bad day, or I need to talk about something, I know that she is always there to support me in every way a mother can.

My best friend and why: Alexis. We have been best friends since Kindergarten. We don't see each other as often as we like because we go to different schools but we have such a great friendship that we don't need to see each other every week. Whenever we talk, we catch each other up on our lives and we can tell each other anything knowing that the other will respond honestly and without bias.

What you’d probably find in my iPod: 50% Musical soundtracks, 50% Hannah Montana soundtracks

What you’d probably find under my bed: A bunch of random laundry items and old boxes that I was too lazy to put downstairs in the recycling bin.

Most of my time on the computer is spent: Doing homework, listening to music, or editing photos.

In my free time I: I am rehearsing for a musical/play, or hanging out with friends somewhere that involves food.

My most humbling experience: was two years ago when I participated in a special needs camp. I was a teen counselor for a week and practically a "big brother"; to a child with special needs. Among being responsible for him, I also assisted with all of the other campers. These campers included many children with Autism and Downs Syndrome. I really didn't know what to expect going into it, seeing as I was a 13 year old boy who had no experience with this type of thing. But I left that camp 6 days later a very different boy. I had learned and come to know how truly amazing and special these people are. I made so many counselor friends and camper friends and I came home knowing that I made a huge impact on those kids' lives just by doing some activities with them and spending a few days with them.

The best advice I ever got: Be the example, not the exception.

The best day I ever had so far: The day I was told that I was admired by somebody that I admire.

What makes me laugh: My mom.

What makes me mad: When people don't try to understand things from a different perspective and have a very conservative mindset.

One thing I simply can’t stand: Unnecessary arguments.

One thing I’d like to change about myself: I hope to become better at staying on track. I tend to procrastinate a lot.

Fifteen years from now I want to: Be passing on the messages that I found valuable in my life to other high school students.

The reason I want to is: I have learned so many lessons in middle school and high school and the ones who have taught me these lessons are people that I admire. I think all kids my age and younger should be taught the same things. I would love to have the honor of teaching kids these lessons and possibly being one who is admired.

The three words that best describe me: Determined, Outgoing, Humorous.
