Troupe member Erin Oechsel performs at Blue Ridge Junior High
School in Mansfield on December 18, 2008 as lead vocalist for the song 'Mirror'
in a piece about the importance of accepting the appearance of oneself
instead of trying to emulate someone else who's perceived to be more
attractive or to have celebrity status.
A 2008 graduate of Benet Academy
in Lisle, Illinois, Erin's currently a junior music-theatre major at Ball
State University in Muncie, Indiana.
She performed with the MWAH! troupe
throughout her senior year in high school and returned for the Blue Ridge
show during her holiday break from classes.

My name: Erin Oechsel
Status:
Erin Oechsel, the oldest of four Oechsel siblings - all former or current
members of the MWAH! Performing Arts Troupe since February 2007 - is
performing on February 24, 2014 in what she calls her third installment of
'PCSS' or 'Post-Collegiate Shock Syndrome: An Evening of Original Parodies
Devoted to the Woes of an Aspiring Adult.'
The venue for the 8:00 p.m. performance will be Davenport's Piano Bar &
Cabaret, located at 1383 North Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago. Joining her
again will be her sisters Alex, a senior at Benet Academy in Lisle, and
Taylor, an eighth grader at Washington Junior High School in Naperville; her
brother Christopher, who attends Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana;
and her father, Chris.
Written by Erin and accompanied by Elizabeth Doran, the one hour show will
be a musical commentary on post-graduation aspirations and shocking
realities, including her moving back in with her parents or wishing she
could do so after moving to the big city. Erin says she's added two new
songs to this latest installment as she asks her audience to commiserate
with her in her sharing 'some parodies inspired by those pesky
twenty-something years.'
Erin recently performed in 'The Wheel' at The Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago
and will soon begin rehearsals for Les Miserables at Drury Lane Theatre in
Oak Brook Terrace. She's a graduate of Benet Academy and Ball State
University, where she received a degree in Musical Theatre in 2012.
