NORTHLAKE Performing arts troupe MWAH! visited Northlake Middle School Dec. 16 to talk about bullying, ethnic discrimination and abusive relationships through a variety of skits for the school's students.
The group has members from throughout the Chicago area and Illinois and, through its performances, discusses issues such as finding healthy alternatives to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs; resolving abusive relationship problems associated with bullying, jealousies, and control; eliminating discrimination stemming from differences among people; and developing coping skills when confronted with negative peer influences and low self-esteem, according to its website.
